Bridesmaid Drama..Scrapping..Jen and Mike...Invitations...Spring Break is over...

My weekend was good, lots of things got done, just all round good!! Friday I had a Mary Kay makeup party at my house for the bridesmaids and an honorary bridesmaid. We had tons of fun, trying different products and chatting about the wedding!! Got to talk about the bridesmaids things, show them the dress we found and other things. Then I was kicked out for a bit while they discussed things that I was not allowed to hear. After the party, I went with my good friend Connie to this Art store that also sells scrapbook supplies, she's been telling me all about it, so we went to go take a look. They were having a sale on patterned paper, which was awesome, so spent $30 on paper and other things not too bad. Now I have to be good and not buy anythng else, it's hard.

I have a problem too, well not really mine it's more with two of my bridesmaids. They do not get along, it's more one than the other. She'd just so mean to the other one, and in such an obvious way. At first I thought it was just me making too much of it, but it's been confirmed by two others that it's true. And I feel bad for my friend who's getting this, now she tries really hard and I'm thinking if I should say something to my other friend about it. Or see if it will cool down? Tell me what you think...now some pics...

Connie, Sam and Jocelyn...my soon to be sister in law!!

All of us getting all lathered up with face wash...don't we look so cute?!

Friday night I talked to Jen, Mike's fiancee on the phone. She called me and I've been meaning to call her, but I don't want to overwhelm her but, she beat me to it. It felt so good to talk to her...we talked for a long time about everything, Mike, work, wedding stuff, scrapping everything. She's doing good, and I think just needed to talk, we're getting together soon, I cannot wait!!

Saturday I did a bit of scrapbooking and played around with the wedding invitations..had a couple of ideas just wanted to show Jared and see if he had any ideas. Will share soon for now, here are some pages...

Making the guest list...Jared had such a hard time...I love his face!!

Showing off my ring to my good friend Sam, a couple of days after Jared proposed!!

Sunday I went with Jared to see Mike at the hospital...I hadn't seen him since the night of the accident. And I must say for what he went through he looks REALLY GOOD!! It was so good to see him. He's basically the same old Mike, laughing and joking. He has a bit of short term memory loss, so he forgets things, but that's okay hopefully that will get better. He's moving and everything, sits up. It was good to see him. Jen wasn't there so, I didn't get a chance to talk to her, which kind of sucked, that's okay. It was good to see Mike!!

Jared and I went out for dinner, for Mexican. I always feel bad 'cause my mom's cookinfg is so much better. But, it was good. I go more for the dessert, this may sound a bit gross, but it it SO GOOD...deep fried Mars bar wrapped in a tortilla, with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream...so yummy!! We were so full after!! Went back to my house to show Jared the invitations and he helped me with some more ideas, so looks like we will start making them this weekend.

So, today is my first day back to school after Spring Break..went by so fast, I'm already looking forward to the weekend. I'm so awful....later!!

4 Months...122 Days...

Until the wedding...I cannot believe it!! And how are we feeling? A little stressed but not too much, Jared and I both kind of just want this day to come already, I know it sounds bad..but we're both excited and just want to start our lives together...I am still excited to wear my dress...and cannot wait to see Jared in his kilt...But we still have a million and one things...going to work on the invitations this weekend, the paper should be here either tomorrow or Friday and so I can start cutting and scoring..now just need to wait for the stamps, which should be here soon, according to the Stamp Store...

Being on Spring Break has been so awesome...just love it!! Waking up late, drinking my coffee in front of the computer in my pj's...taking all my time in the world..being lazy..just hanging out...watching some tv...caught up with days..and all the other soaps...watching talk shows..and doing tons of scrapping. Still trying to work on our Engagement Pics...for the Engagement album..but having tons of fun!! Here are some of my layouts...

The happily engaged couple...us!!

Here is my page for dare numero 20, was a challenge, hard to alter a photo..but once you get into it, it's pretty easy...

Will post some more layouts later...have an awesome Wednesday everyone...

Thankyou so much all your thoughts and prayers for Mike and his fiancee Jen. I am happy to say that he is doing good, and things are looking really well all it's going to take now is time!! He went in on Thursday afternoon for surgery to get pins put into his ankles, and that went well. He's still out of it because of all the drugs. The only thing that they're still waiting to take a look at is his lower lumbar...which is at the lower end of the spine near the tailbone. It's still very swollen and they to get in to look and see but, it will have to wait. Hopefully it will be okay. He can move his legs and arms so, that's good. On Saturday he was a little bit awake, and that he drank some water and gave Jen a kiss, which is awesome!! He still doesn't really know what is going on and who everybody is but at least he gave Jen a kiss and figures she's important to him!! Which is awesome!! He's also been mumbling Chicago a-lot, Chicago this and that...kind of funny!! All the times that Jared has gone to see Mike he's been wearing something of the Chicago Bears..his fave football team so, we think he might be asking for Jared. But I'm glad that he's going to be okay. We're told that he might get to go home next week, which is so awesome!!

I'm still in shock over what happened, thankful that Mike is going to be okay and will be there at our wedding standing next to Jared. But when things like this happen it totally makes you think about your life and enjoying things and enjoying each and every day. For me it's the first time that someone close has nearly left us, yes I've had my grandparents pass away but, I was younger and they lived either in Mexico or in the Netherlands so it was different. Just going to live each day to the fullest, enjoy it and not take it for granted. Just something I've been thinking...

Now some pictures..we found the bridesmaids dresses though I would share some pics...

My good friend Sam also a bridesmaid and I modelling the bridesmaid dress!!

Now here are a couple of layouts, I've done!! Now that I am on Spring Break will be doing a ton more!!!

Jared and his Bears!!

The baby of the family!! Olga, I still cannot believe that she will be turning 20 in June!!

My sister Olga and her almost car!!

That's it for now, going to go and enjoy my first day of Spring break..gonna go and meet the lady who's going to make our wedding cake, I know it will be chocolate for sure!!!

We need your prayers

We had a horrible storm last night. With a very strong wind, and a mix of both snow and rain. Jared's best friend, Mike is a pilot. He called me last night at about 9pm that Mike was in a plane crash. The plane crashed in Powell River which is about 5 or 6 hours from Vancouver. The plane was trying to land. Mike tried to land one tim, couldn't then went back up and tried again. A huge gust of wind came, that was really strong flipped the plane over. There were two people in the plane, Mike the pilot and his co-pilot. The co-pilot did not make it. Mike was taken to Powell River hospital and then was transported by helicopter to Vancouver General for some scans and tests. Jared and I went there to meet his fiancee Jen, and lend our support anyway that we can. We got there just as he was being brought in. We were put into a private waiting room, while they worked on him and did a whole bunch of tests. We waited for a long while. He's completely out of it, doesn't know where he is, what happend, what is going on. But he is alive. Thank God!! We were at the hospital until about 4am. As of right now he is stable, has fractured both feet ann ankles. Fractured his lower verterbrae, broke some ribs, has a bruised eye and caved his cheekbone. But he is okay, all the scans and test came out good. No bleeding in his head or anywhere else, his heart and his blood pressure are normal. The doctors said that he will be pretty much be out of it for about a week, but that's normal and that the best thing for him right now is rest. Please think of Mike and his fiancee Jen, your prayers and thoughts. We need him for a very long time, which I know will be, but please think of them both and pray. We love him very much, he is the best friend that anyone could ask for. The two of them; Mike and Jen at our Engagement Party.

Life has been busy...more wedding related than anything!! But that's okay, I don't mind. Some other things to check off my list..found the bridesmaids dresses...picked up some invitations on the weekend, now just need to get some paper, gonna order it from Stampin'Up seems to be the least expensive and also good quality.

The one thing is that bugging me is that it looks like Jared and I are going to have to cut somethings down..to keep costs down, because as of right now we are a little tight, we're okay but it needs to be better. So, right now I need to think of ideas to help keep costs down, the one thing I can thing of right now is the centerpieces, I know it's not much but, it's something. So, I was thinking of something without flowers like candles, a candlescape, I don't know, just throwing it out there so, any ideas would be greatly especially if you've had a wedding already. Another idea, cut out the limos, the dj, do only CD's...I don't know..need to go check out the Martha Weddings magazine.

So, I have two more days and then I am on SPRING BREAK..YAY!! I am so excited!! Will be spent being lazy, watching tv, making invitations, doing scrapping, just basically hanging out. I cannot wait!!

We will not be serving chips and salsa or a variety of pizzas at the wedding!!

WE FOUND A CATERER!!! YAY!! I'm so happy!! Jared went to go see this one that my friend recommended, actually it's a family friend and Jared liked her!! I am so glad...because I was beginning to worry a little!! But we have one!! And she is reasonably priced and the food sounds SO good. Plus she a decorator that she works with which is going to be so helpful, then we won't have to look for someone. I can finally check this off my list.

Nothing new and exciting, just the usual work and wedding stuff!! We're going to get some paper and envelopes to make some invitations this weekend. My project for Spring break which will begin next Friday, I am so excited...but I do have a tons of stuff I need to do.

Just found out by receiving an email that the stamp store that I ordered the stmaps from is closing. I cannot believe it!! They've been close to my house for 10 years. Thank God I ordered the stamps before then, could you imagine?

My half sister is coming over on Saturday which should be interesting..stay tuned I will let everyone know how it goes..maybe take some pictures...hope everyone is well..YAY the weekend is almost here!!

If You Have Nothing Nice To Say, Than Don't Say Anything At All

I remember hearing this all the time when I was growing up. And I still think it's a good thing to remember when it comes to people's feelings. I use it at school with the children so, they understand how it's nice to respect other people's feelings.

I'm feeling a little annoyed and hurt. I am very proud of all the scrap pages I do. And yes, I am still adapting my style and learning new things. I've been scrapping all afternoon and I was very proud of the two pages I completed today that I though I would share it on two peas. Now I've heard from other people that some users at two peas can be somewhat catty. Which I now have witnessed myself.

Now I could be going a little overboard but my feelings we're a bit hurt. I worked very hard on my pages today and like I said am proud of what I've created. Now this person could be offering some constructive criticism but, if not than like that saying from when I was little then don't say anything at all!!

I'm probably being a little silly and a tad over sensitive but oh well. That's me!! I am going to try and not let this bother me but I must say after reading the comment I could feel my scrapping mojo disappear....I think I might not be posting on two peas for awhile and start posting on scrapologie or keeping memories alive...which I have heard Jamie talk about and that it is a smaller community...or I might just not let this go to my head and heart and keep doing what I'm doing. Then it means that people like this win. Thanks for listening!!

Venting..and Kristi's Purple and Silver CJ

Okay I'm going to vent first....all I have to say is guys suck!! Ugh!! Jared was so difficult today. And in such a mood. Ususally he's okay and it's me who's being difficult but, today..ugh!! And then he puts me in a bad mood. And I worry 'cause I think I've done something and on and on...I know when something is bugging him too, by the way he acts. And I know something was bugging him too but he sometimes has a hard time telling me what it is. Which I do not understand because I'm easy to talk to, and I know how to listen and I will help him as much as I can but he still has a hard time. And he gets mad and shrugs me off. Which usually leads into a fight and tears. And we never fight. But I must say that he has improved about telling me when something bothers him...he used to just shut down and get mad..do the complete opposite. He has gotten better and I did find out what was bugging him but why be so difficult? Things are okay now, at least the children at school distract me a little. Why do guys act like this? I guess I will never understand!!

So, I'm posting some pics of Kristi's Purple and Silver CJ. Loved doing the pages!! Tons of fun!! I am so happy to be a part of this!!

Here is the purple entry. Love the color purple and I don't seem to use it too much when I scrapbook. So, I think I will be using it more :)

My entry for the silver!! Just had to include my ring...it's not silver but the color is. Had to include some Celtic stamps as well...related to the ring and the wedding!!

Tomorrow is my last day of school for the week...YAY!! I'm so happy to have Friday off. We're going on a field trip which will be super easy. Then after school for an hour and a half, we have conferences. The last bit!! YAY and then we're done until next year. So glad!!

And I'm happy to say that looks like the whole idea of serving salsa and chips and a variety of pizzas for the wedding will not go through. Found a caterer that quoted us a reasonable price just, have to talk to Jared about it. But it looks good.I'm excited!!

I better go now and work on what I am going to say to the parents about their children..hope everyone is doing well!!!

My weekend and a Happy Birthday!!

Well it's Monday again. I hate how it goes by so quick!! My weekend was nothing exciting.

Saturday, I went to the florist to leave a deposit and talk more about flowers. I'm still thinking about the centerpieces and what to do. Right now I am going with light blue hydrangeas and then a gerber daisy in the middle with lots of greens in an ivy bowl, like the ones they sell at Michaels. But now I'm not sure of the red and blue together and how it will look. I have another idea, and I think it might be a little less expensive, and look better. And still have the gerber daisies. After went to London Drugs to get some pics developed, for the engagement album and for the swap I'm doing with Hailey. YAY!! While I waited went to the scrap store, found some goodies and didn't spend too much. Which is always good. Saturday night didn't do anything..lazy..Jared was playing soccer, and he hurt is hamstring which is not good. Hopefully it'll be better by the next game!!

Sunday, did a little scrapping. Finished my sign in tag and one page for Kristi's Purple and Silver CJ, will hopefully finish it this week. Will post some pics when it is. Then Jared and I went to the Stamp store to order some Celtic stamps for our invitations. Talked about invitations and got some ideas at the store, so we're going to go and buy some paper and other supplies to make them. That will be my project for over Spring break. That night watched Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy...love these shows...wonder what's going to happen with Meredith and that other guy....

And here is the t-shirt tag I made for Island Girl Jen...who's birthday it is today!! Happy Birhtday!! Love her tees and her scrap pages!! And love al those pages and pics I keep seeing of her and her hubby at their wedding...he wore a kilt as well, just like Jared will..hopefully she has an awesome birthday!!

That's it for now....so glad it's a short week for me this week..have a pro-d day on Friday!! YAY!! Happy Monday!!

5 months...150 days...

Until the wedding!! I cannot belive it!! And thanks to my amazing math skills, for this reason I don not teach math, I thought I still had 6 months left. But not it's really 5 months. Which is okay, I'm not stressed yet. Still looking for a caterer, we have two prospects for this week so, hopefully one will work out.

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's day!! Jared and I didn't really do anything, I didn't even see him; because of work for both of us. I made him a card and gave him some chocolate, Easter chocolate though. He's not a big fan of Valentine's day chocolate so, I got him some Cadbury creme eggs, he loves them. We haven't really celebrated Valentine's day in a long time. We used to when we were first dating. I usually just get a card and some chocolate. Which is fine with me!!

We did have a Valentine's day party at school with the children and it's always tons of fun!! We decorated cupcakes, colored some Valentine pictures and did a little face painting!! They loved it!! We watched a Mickey Mouse Valentine's Movie, so fun!! They were laughing!! Then we had a special snack!! Basically tons of junk food and, then send them home all hyper to their parents along with their Valentine's card bag!! Love to see their happy faces!! Wanted to post also a pic of the Valentine's day craft we made with the children. I just loved how it turned out. So cute, we had them all lined up on the window sill and it looked so nice!!

Happy Wednesday!! The weekend is almost here!! YAY!!

We're registered!!

My weekend was good, I hate how it just flies by though. Wedding plans are going well. The meeting with the florist went really well. We're going to with this one, the lady was really nice, and I love that they're working around our budget. The flowers are going to look so pretty. All red roses and red gerber daisies, they all match with the kilt!! Which I will post soon so, you all can see the colors and the whole theme that the wedding is going to be!! All Scottish!!

Saturday afternoon was spent with Jared before he went to his soccer game. He hasn't played in two months and has just been itching to play!! Let out all his steam!! So I was happy that he got to play!! Then he went to work right after too. So, I spent my Saturday night just creating and playing with paper!! Which is always fun to do!! And these are some of the things I came up with..

Happy Belated Birthday to Kristi!! Who's birthday was on Saturday and I made her this tag!! Hope you had a fun celebration!!

Here's my page about Sudoku!! Love how it turned out!!

Sunday we went to go register at the Bay!! One of our big Canadian department stores. We were at the store at 2pm, and we were lucky enough to have my old best friend from high school, her sister help us out!! She is so nice!! And went over everything!! I think I was more excited about registering that Jared was, but I know he had a good time!! It was fun spending time together and figuring out what we wanted for our place!! We were there for 3hours, I couldn't believe it!! So, these pics of us is from near the end that's, why we look tired. And hungry too!!

Jared with the pricing gun, he had fun, I know it even if he won't admit it!!

Here I am with our wedding gift checklist!!

Right after we left the Bay we went for dinner. We were starving!!! Went to out fave restaurant, Milestone's!! Love their food!! Last time we were there was when Jared proposed!! After dinner went back to Jared's watch some of the hocky game!! And Jared did his homework for this night class that he's taking on bookkeeping!! He looks so cute doing homework!! Then we went our for coffee with our friends Mike and Jen. Our usual Sunday double date!! Fun, just chatting and drinking coffee.

Now it's Monday again, too fast!! I hope everyone had a good weekend!!

Monday, February 06, 2006

First off, I want to thank everyone for all the thoughtful comments about my last post. I am very happy that my sister is back in my life and I was talking to Jared about the whole thing. And he said that right now, I should concentrate on the wedding and everything that is about to happen in the next couple months. In some ways it's a test, to see if she really hangs around for awhile. I know it's mean in some ways but it is one way to ensure my heart doesn't get broken. But in way I think she is here for good, and will be at my wedding, which I am totally excited about!!

My weekend was good. Saturday, went with my Dad to the auto parts store to pick a new bulb for the headlight, my daddy gets a discount 'cause he's an ex Air Canada employee. Then I went to the Scrap store to buy my good friend sam her b-day present. She's just gotten into scrappin so I bought her some of my fave goodies; ribbon, patterned paper from Basic Grey, KI Memories, some rub ons and other things. She's going to love it!! And on the way to the scrap store as I was driving I saw a dinosaur, a triceratops to be exact. One of the museums is having an exhibit about dinosaurs and I guess they were moving it. I must say it was pretty cool!! I mean how often do you see a dinosaur being pulled by a truck on the street? Wish I had my camera. Later Saturday night I went with Jared to his aunts house for dinner for his Grandpa's birthday!! And we got our plane tickets for our honeymoon!! YAY!! I'm so excited. His Grandpa got the tickets through all his Visa points!! Jared and i are going to Hawaii. To Honolulu!! I am so looking forward to it!! Lounging by the beach, relaxing and hopefully getting to meet Dog the Bounty Hunter!! That would be so cool!!

Sunday, I stayed home and totally lounged. Jared was out with friends watching the Superbowl. Tried to do some Scrappin' but just wasn't feeling it!! So, I watched Mean Girls, love that movie, sorry to say!! Then...

Look what my sister Olga came home with on Sunday afternoon!! She looks so good in it!!

Isn't this car absolutely gorgeous?! My sisters dream car!! It's a 2001 Mazda Miata, has a soft top, standard, almost no mileage, barely driven, leather seats!! Gorgeous!!

Too bad Olga didn't buy it, we were all sad to see it leave. It was too expensive for her, so the search continues. If not my other sister Vanessa has a red Miata, a 1990 and Olga might buy it from her. We'll see.

Anyways this week is dedicated to wedding stuff, trying to find a caterer, and I'm meeting another florist tomorrow and we're going to register this weekend too!! I can't wait. I also have parent-teacher conferences, which are not fun. Hopefully in between I can do some scrappin too!! Have some swaps that I'm doing and other things!! Have an awesome week everyone!!

Not really half...

Something happened today that I have been wanting to happen for awhile. It's good nothing bad. But first I need to give the background as to what I am talking about so, it will be easier to understand.

I have two half sisters. My dad was married before he met my mom. He got married really young and he and his ex-wife have two daughters. When my dad married my mom, my two sisters ( I have always called them sisters because it's easier than just saying half sisters ), were 17 and 18 years old. Needless to say I'm sure they were a little jealous but they were still happy for our dad. My parents had me a year after they were married. So, from that time until I was about 5 or 6 years old I had two older sisters, who played with me, took me out, just tons of fun stuff. I don't know quite what happened but they disappeared. We kept in touch for a little but after that nothing. When I was in grade eight, they both reappeared. The older one was married and just had had a daughter, and the second one was living with her boyfriend and she was very happy. It was awesome. From grade 8 up until grade 12, we saw them often, hung out and grew closer. Then, something happened, miscommunication or something I don't know. But we just stopped talking. Sad. That was 8 years ago.

Today, one of my sisters came to lunch. I was so nervous and excited to see her. My dad has been talking to her on the phone, and she finally came over today. She looks good. And happy. I was so happy to see her. I could feel my eyes tear up when I gave her a hug hello. And I was a little nervous I didn't know what to say. She knows I am getting married, and she did get to meet Jared which I am so happy. We talked a little, I had to go to work. But there was so much I wanted to say but couldn't, it was a little hard. I don't know why. Could be 'cause parts of me is trying to keep my guard up. I don't want her to disappear again, I want her part of my life. Trying not to keep my hopes up, I guess. So then if something happens I won't feel rejected and upset. Let down.

I want both of them there at our wedding. They are my sisters. So many memories there. I want them there for me, to be proud of me. To stand by me as my sisters. We were going to invite them to the wedding anyways, but now it looks like at least one of them will come. I am happy about that. I guess one thing to do is to just take it one day at a time. And be happy with the time I have with her.

I know that I look forward to the next time I get to see her, probably soon. There is still so much to catch up on.

Thanks for listening. Writing this was hard, it's a tough topic for me. I'm getting a little teary eyed just thinking about it. I will most definetly be writing more about this, now that she's back, my sister.

It was a scrappy weekend...

It definetly was. Tons of fun too. I got tons done. Saturday, got up early and went to the mall with Jared, he got his hair cut and I had to go to the drug store to pick up some things. After the mall, Jared dropped me off at home and took the car to soccer. I stayed home and scrapped all afternoon, got tons done. Finished Alex's green and brown cj entry, love how it turned out and had tons of fun doing it!! As you can see I FINALLY figured out how to put a pic in my profile and also changed the one for two peas.I am quite proud of myself, don't need blogger for dummies!YAY!! Now here's Alex's cj, I also did another page, a photo swap with Kayla Aimee, one of the pics she sent me...I want to post, but blogger is being difficult will do that later. Anyways here is the cj...will also be on two peas!!

My green entry, always think of nature when I think green so, I totally played with all the green I had.

My brown entry which I totally love how it turned out...so fun!!

Sunday was good. I met up with my good friend Connie to catch up, chat and do a little shopping...just a little!! We went to Starbucks and chatted. She brought her wedding album so, I could look at the pictures. They turned out so well. I also have an album that one of Jared's good friends put together of pics of the engagement party, all black and white. They look really good. So, I showed Connie. Also had tons of wedding talk, about mine and what she's having to do now and giving me tons of advice, ehich is always welcomed. Talked about the wedding dress, described it and drew a picture of it. And told her the whole story. Showed her the kilt colors, which is the colors that we are using for the wedding, the kilt has red, green and blue. After all the wedding talk at Starbucks we went to the scrapbook store, they were having a sale od patterned paper....WOOHOO!! Didn't spend too much money $25, not bad. Got home had dinner and then went over to Jared's house for a bit to watch Desperate Housewives, which too bad was an old one. Then came home and read more of the DaVinci Code which I am almost done, I think I prefer Angels and Demons better. Took me so long to get into the DaVinci code.

This is a picture of Connie and I at her wedding, she's going to scrap it and post it on two peas...I'll let everyone know when and we all can leave her some pea love!! Hope everyone had a good weekend!!

For Jared

I have been really moody this past week and Jared has been extremely patient with me. He always seems to know how to make me smile and laugh, and how to get me in a better mood. I love him for that. I wanted to make this scrapbook page to remind me how lucky I am to have and how much we love each other.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Wedding Dress Shopping

Here they are my pics of dress shopping!! This was last Saturday. Tons of fun!! Now I couldn't actually take any pics with me and the dresses on, which I was a little disappointed, but I could with me going through the racks of all the dresses. It was so much fun!! And I was so happy that both my sisters were there, my mom and two of my good friends!!

Choosing one off the rack, is it the one?

Looking at dresses with Vanessa.

My sister Olga, my mom and my good friend Shannon, watching me!!

Going through the racks of GORGEOUS dresses, so much to choose from. Here I am with my friend Sam she's also a bridesmaid and my mom.

My entourage!! Here they all are sitting down, waiting for me to model the dresses. From the left my mom, Shannon, one of the bridesmaids, my sister Olga and my sister Vanessa. Both my sisters are maids of honor.

I did find my dress. You know how it's said that when you find your dress you know. And it's so true!! The minute I put my dress on I knew, it fit perfectly, I felt like a princess, it just totally hit me. I felt my eyes tear up a little. It was perfect. It was the first dress I tried on!! Now I wish I could post a pic of what the dress looks like, but Jared has discovered my blog and I don't want him peeking. So I'm sorry the dress showing will have to wait. Just know that I found it and it's perfect!! Another interesting twist, actually it's more like fate...the lady who helped me her name is Rina. Which was my godmother's name, she passed away last year. I thought it was just amazing, totally meant to be!! I'm so excited to wear this dress soon...

Out of it!!

I feel bad, I've been so busy I haven't been able to catch up with everyone's blogs like I would like to. This week has been SO busy with planning things for the wedding. It's been all about caterers and florists. Still trying to decide, everything is so DAMN expensive!! Have to save tons more $$$ and try not to spend. I thnk I've been pretty good so far. Keeping with my goals for 2006, so far!! I have been wanting to share some pics of wedding dress shopping last weekend, but haven't had a chance yet to put them on my computer. This weekend I promise. After the meeting of course with yet another florist and another caterer...have an awesome thursday everyone!!

It's hit me...

How many things I need to do for the wedding. This past weekend I realized and I flipped out a little bit, just a bit. I tried to pick a fight with Jared, because of it. Now Jared and I never fight, like never. Which is a good thing, but me being stupid and a little freaked out decided to try and get Jared all fired up. I am lucky though, Jared knows me very well, he called me on it. And told me to stop and asked me what was really wrong. Thank God!! I have him. Jared told me basically not to worry because we're in this together and he wants to help tons. So...things are cool now.

This past weekend was okay, nothing exciting. Lots of wedding talk. Went out to lunch with my good friend Sam on Sunday while Jared watched football. At night there was Desperate Housewives, love that show!! Didn't do any scrappin' as I was hoping, just wasn't feeling it. Which totally sucks because there are a whole bunch of pages I want to do for our Engagement album, but I got nothing!! Jared's talking to the caterer today, which is good. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!!

So happy it's Friday!!

I know it was only a four day week, and I just had a two week holiday, but I already need the weekend. This weekend Jared and I are going to figure out some more wedding stuff!! I'm trying to figure out flowers, I already know that I want my bouquet to be all red roses, they are my fave flower, or one of them at least. For the bridesmaids, I was thinking a yellow roses and red gerbrera daisies and maybe something else, still not quite sure. It has to go with their dresses and also match with the kilt that Jared and his best man; his brother are wearing. The kilts colors are red, dark green and a light blue. Which is what color the bridesmaids dresses are. And centerpieces, I want something simple, I was thinking a small vase of gebrera daisies, with candles around it. But I still need to figure out if we are having round or rectangle tables. But if you have any ideas for centerpieces, let me know, our theme is Scottish; the kilts, the bagpipes...the tables will either be named after cities in Scotland or castles, still not sure.

The caterer, that's Jared's job to phone and deal with. I've been bugging him for awhile, but with the engagement party, things got busy. Big thing, we need to feed people right. And wedding dress shoppping hopefully going next weekend or the one after. EXCITED!!

There is a wedding fair this weekend in downtown Vancouver, don't go if we're going to go or not. Everything is usually so expensive basically going to go and dream about what we cannot afford. Could get some ideas, but it would be nice to enter all the prizes and maybe win something!! That would be cool.

We also have to take down the tree, but I'm basically paging through wedding magazines. which is totally fine with me. Also hope to do some scrappin. have an awesome weekend, and if everyone has any ideas please let me know!!

Being Mrs Jared McGowan is Going to ROCK!!

Just some things that I've noticed when Jared and I are together. We don't spend too much time together because our schedules are so different so, every moment we have together I love it!! Of course I hope that when we're married things won't change...I'm sure they won't.

- I picked him up from work last night and he brought me a banana cream pie. YUMMY!!
- When we sit on the couch together watching t.v. he wraps his arms around me and holds me tight.
-How when we're also watching t.v. he gives me kisses on my head.
-He will randomly give me neck massages, which feels good.
-He holds my hand all the time.
-He's already started calling me his "wife"
-He'll call me for no reason and say hi!!
-Leaves me sweet messages on my voice mail.
-Is always telling me how much he loves me.
-Will fill up my car with gas.
-Already calls his place, our place.
-Will surprise me with little gifts!! Especially desserts!!

Just a couple of things, that I was thinking about. I am lucky!! I cannot wait to be officially Mrs. Jared McGowan!! I cannot wait to marry him.

I love this picture of the two of us together. So happy!!
Talking about weddings, I have to start moving... hope everyone had an awesome day!!

My Last Day of Holidays...

Well it's my last day of holidays, and in some ways I'm a little sad and a little bit excited to go back. No more lazy days of hanging out in pj's while on the computer, drinling coffee, watching Days, well not until Spring Break and of course weekends. But it's still different. I've been doing tons of scrapping and being a little creative, which is always fun!! All of it is posted on two peas.

Because this year is going to be life changing, getting married and all. I felt inspired to do a page of Goals for this year, I am really going to try keep at it. Also think I'm going to turn it into a mini book which I will come back once the year is up.

I also wanted to say Congrats to Miss Kayla Aimee
whose blog I love to read, she is ENGAGED!! I know we're only getting to know each other but I am so HAPPY for you!! Wedding planning is going to be exciting!!

Hope everyone has a good week, getting back to normal!!

Good News!!!

So, I have good news.....my sister Vanessa is coming home in February!! YAY!! She's still going to be a flight attendant but they've changed the rules; she doesn't need to be Toronto the whole time. Only when she's working. Instead she will be in Toronto for two weeks, while she works and then she will be two weeks at home. It does mean that she will be back and forth between Toronto and Vancouver, but that's okay at least she will be home and closer. I'm so excited now she can help me with all the wedding stuff. Both my sisters are maids of honor, couldn't choose. And one of the first things to do is go wedding dress shopping. I am SO excited. Also one more good thing another one of Jared's and I good friends, just got engaged!! YAY!! I'm so excited and happy for them. As promised my CJ pics will be up soon, have a good night all!! How do you like the pic of the future flight attendant of Air Canada Jazz, she looks good!!

Christmas was good...

Christmas for me and my family was good. Saturday night, Christmas Eve was spent just Jared and I. For us, it was perfect. We had pizza, and watched t.v. Michael Buble was on, and the concert he did in L.A. Jared and I went to the concert together when he came in August. He's such an awesome singer, sings mostly all the classics from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ray Charles... and so on. Plus the fact that he's easy on the eyes. I left at about 9pm to go home and scrap, did some work on my CJ, I'm actually excited about how it's turning out. My goal is to mail it out tomorrow. Jared had some friens over to play Poker and just hang out, which was perfectly fine with me.

Christmas day, got up early and opened presents with my family. We did a Secret Santa with my family, because money is tigh with the wedding coming up!! My sister got Jared and I. We got matching slippers, and a cookbook. Has some yummy recipes that I will have to try out. Also got other things like; wool socks-needed them bad my feet are always cold, a cupe that says "Born to Scrapbook" cute, perfect for my coffee, and other things that I cannot remember at the moment. Then I went over to Jareds place so we could drive out to his parents place, they live about 45 minutes away, I hate the drive it takes forever. From his mom, I got a frying pan. Apparently it's a tradition in her family to give the daughters or daughter-in-laws a frying pan as part of making sure who's running the house, to the rule the roosr as she wrote in her card. She said to keep Jared in place. I have nothing to worry. But he's family spoiled me too, mostly got $$$ which I was totally not expecting, but very nice of course. Already went to the scrap store to spend some of it!! Then we left and went to his Grandparents house to say hi and all. As a wedding gift his grandparent are using their Air Mile points to pay for the flights to Hawaii for our honeymoon, very nice of them. Now have to figure out waht part of Hawaii we're going to. Drove back home to watch the Bears game, very important!! Of course, thank goodness they won, an extra Christmas present for Jared.

Dinner at my house was SO GOOD!! Had Mexican food, tamales, rice, beans and veggies. Love it!! I need to learn. Dessert was good, I love shortbread cookies and butter tarts, I think those two are my fave. Can't forget the Gingerbread men!! We always play some sort of game after dinner, the wrapping game we play very year. You need to unwrap a gift that has been wrapped over and over, with oven mitts while the person on you right is trying to roll doubles with the dies, so it can be their turn. Tons of fun, lots of laughing and of course in my family tons of screaming. I won!! YAY! Got some cool candle stuff.

After we went to Jared's friend Dan's house. They were having a little mini get together for all their friends. It was good, was super tired though. And it didn't help that I was sitting next to the fireplace. One of the things that we talked about, which is what Jared and I are kind of going through right now, is where to eat for the holidays, with which family. This year Christmas day was spent with Jared's family and then dinner at my parents. Jared's mom is already keeping tabs for next year, isn't that hard. So next year we're doing the same thing but switching families. It's hard, and apparently the couples that were at this house are going through the same thing. What do you do? Both, especially moms are upset, and in a way Jared and I are becoming our own family, so we need to do our own thing. I don't know. We never had this problem before, the past 7years we've gone each with our own family. Just kind of sucks.

Anyways, overall Christmas was good. I'm going to go and to some scrappin, finish my CJ and hopefully I will post some pics tomorrow!!

Weekend in Whistler

Friday at my school we had our Christmas concert and Party with the children. We had a special performance that the children did with their music and movement teacher. Then the children san four songs that we've been practicing. They did such an awesome job, and they all looked so cute with their reindeer antlers, that we the teachers all made. Tons of prep work we had to do. But it was totally worth it. Then the children hoped and wished that Santa might come and stop by with some gifts. And lucky children guess who came....just to see the children's faces is totally woth it!! Here's a photo of Santa Jared with the soon to be Mrs. Claus.

Whistler was pretty and cold. So cold!! I am totally not made for this kind of weather. Jared and I took the bus up, takes about 2hours to get there. We were scared to drive because the highway winds up and down, and it can be very slippery with black ice. But the bus ride was not too bad. Just sat there on the bus looking at the beautiful scenery and reading. We walked around the Whislter village, I think one of the things we did most while up there wa eat and drink. One good way to keep yourself warm, especially with Baileys and hot chocolate, yummy!!

The wedding was so pretty. There was about 50 guest. The wedding took place in a lodge, so it was very cozy. The ceremony was in a tiny chapel next door. Very short ceremony my friend Connie had her dog as the ring bearer, so cute!! I wasn't able to get a pic of him though. It was SO COLD!! And the wind was cold too, so that didn't help. Jared and I sat right in front of the bar, perfect!! It was hard because we didn't know too many people. the only people I knew were the ones from the shower, and Connie's co-workers. But it was a good time!! Connie and her new husband Tyler said they can't wait for our wedding too. Me too!!

A view of the mountains, so pretty and cold.

Jared, in Whistler Village. This is his I'm smiling at the camera, stop taking pictures picture.

My good friend Connie, the bride. She looked so beautiful and she was just beaming all night. Her dress was gorgeous, her Mom made it for her.

The Engagement Party

The engagement party was so much fun and it turned out really well. Saturay started with me getting a manicure, I love getting them. I had to have my nails looking pretty since I was gonna be showing off my ring!! After I went to Jared's we ended up having a draw at the party and we had 5 gift basket that we gave away. Each one represented a little bit of us and what we like to do. The BIG prize was a bottle of wine, a giftcard for Starbucks, chocolates, a candle, some of my handmade Christmas cards and a git card to our fave restaurant. So, I had to put them all together. Then we went to go get some more booze, and decorations to decorate the hall. After went to Jared's brothers house to figure out music, he played music all night from his laptop.

Then, we met at the Richmond Nature Park, that's where we had the party. The hall was like a log cabin, very nice and cozy. We met there to decorate the hall and set things up. Jared did the bar, and I the decorations. Tons of Christmas decorations everywhere. And setting up the food. Before we knew it was almost 6:30pm, and we had to go home and change. The party started at 7pm. Rushed home and changed. I was so worried about what I was going to wear but it turned out. I bought this pretty lacy skirt and wore it with a pretty sparkly sweater, and black camisole underneath. And my mama curled my hair, I loved it. I felt pretty!! My daddy called me a princess :) Jared looked handsome in his shirt and tie.

The party was tons of fun, Jared and I did rounds chatting with everybody. Jared did a speech and thanked everybody for coming, how happy he is that we're engaged and how much he loves me, and can't wait to marry me, melt my heart!! We did some dancing, my fave part I think, I love dancing with Jared, being in his arms. We danced to forgot the name of the song but it goes...Someday when I'm awfully low and the world is cold, I will feel a glow, just thinking of you and the way you look tonight....there we go it's called The way you look tonight. An old song, it's not our wedding song. But one of my fave songs anyways.

Overall it was extremely memorable, will still post more pics later, here are a few for now. Oh, and everyone said they had tons of fun which is good. Can't wait for the big day now!!

Jared and I. I love the picture, my friend took it. SO HAPPY!!

I got to show off my ring most of the night, which I don't mind doing at all. A-lot of girls were impressed at how WELL Jared did with the ring. I'm not complaining, I LOVE it!! The details about the ring; it's white gold, the sides have Celtic knot work, and the diamond is 1.1 carats, and is princess cut. Any more questions just ask me ;)

Jared and I dancing, here he's about to "dip" me. I loved dancing with him, I think I fell in love again with him all over again. Sorry about it being so dark and Jared's red eyes.

The super simple and easy guestbook I made for the party. We got so many nice comments. So, nice to read how many people are happy for us.

The day is almost here...

This week has been totally dedicated to the Engagement party and doing all the last minute things. Actually there is quite a few. Jared needs to get the liquor license still, and all the booze as well. And Jared said we should have a guest book, which is a good idea and asked me if I could whip something up. No problem, and it gives me a reason to go to the Scrap store. I just bought one of those Bazzill Cover Alls, (love those little books), some ribbon and cardstock and my project for tonight is to put it together. It will be super easy and super simple!! Food, we're gonna have some Subway Party tray, veggies and dip and some other appetizers. All done by super chef fiance Jared. Decorations, the hall will be decorated with Xmas lights which Jared and I will be doing on Saturday!! This party should be fun but in some ways I can't wait 'til it's over. Jared and I still have to decorate the tree, probably Sunday!! Have a super rest of the week, everyone and I will post some pics soon!!

A million and one things to do...

I am so happy that it's Friday. It's been a busy week. My sister left on Tuesday, and I'm still so busy with all my French tutoring. Then we have all this preparations at school for our Christmas Concert on the 16th. At school right now we're making tons of Christmas crafts. Which is always fun!! As well as making the gifts that "Santa" is going to give the children.

This weekend, tomorrow Jared and I are going to get the Christmas tree for his place. So excited to decorate. Then we have dinner with his family for sisters birthday. Sunday I have my friend Connie's bridal shower. The rest of the week, work and tutoring. Also getting everything ready for our Engagement Party on the 10th. Have to phone some people to see if they're coming. Prepare food, more decorations, buy a nice new outfit for me to wear to the party. Very important!! After the engagement party we're having our friends over at Jared's place for another get together. Just to hang out and chat. The Sunday after the engagement party I have my End of the year staff Christmas lunch.

The following weekend, the 16th my school Christmas concert with a special visit from Santa Jared. He does such an awesome job my fiance!! Will take tons of pics of course. The weekend of Dec 17th and 18th, Jared and I are going to Whistler for my Connie's wedding!! Yay!! So excited get to spend some alone time with Jared and celebrate my friends wedding. Take notes and of course get some ideas for my wedding!!

And in between all that I still need to go Christmas shopping, make some Christmas cards that I'm selling, and finish my own. And finish off my Christmas crafts. I love Christmas, all though this year it seems a little bit more busy with all the wedding stuff!! No worries!!
