Good News!!!

So, I have good news.....my sister Vanessa is coming home in February!! YAY!! She's still going to be a flight attendant but they've changed the rules; she doesn't need to be Toronto the whole time. Only when she's working. Instead she will be in Toronto for two weeks, while she works and then she will be two weeks at home. It does mean that she will be back and forth between Toronto and Vancouver, but that's okay at least she will be home and closer. I'm so excited now she can help me with all the wedding stuff. Both my sisters are maids of honor, couldn't choose. And one of the first things to do is go wedding dress shopping. I am SO excited. Also one more good thing another one of Jared's and I good friends, just got engaged!! YAY!! I'm so excited and happy for them. As promised my CJ pics will be up soon, have a good night all!! How do you like the pic of the future flight attendant of Air Canada Jazz, she looks good!!

Christmas was good...

Christmas for me and my family was good. Saturday night, Christmas Eve was spent just Jared and I. For us, it was perfect. We had pizza, and watched t.v. Michael Buble was on, and the concert he did in L.A. Jared and I went to the concert together when he came in August. He's such an awesome singer, sings mostly all the classics from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ray Charles... and so on. Plus the fact that he's easy on the eyes. I left at about 9pm to go home and scrap, did some work on my CJ, I'm actually excited about how it's turning out. My goal is to mail it out tomorrow. Jared had some friens over to play Poker and just hang out, which was perfectly fine with me.

Christmas day, got up early and opened presents with my family. We did a Secret Santa with my family, because money is tigh with the wedding coming up!! My sister got Jared and I. We got matching slippers, and a cookbook. Has some yummy recipes that I will have to try out. Also got other things like; wool socks-needed them bad my feet are always cold, a cupe that says "Born to Scrapbook" cute, perfect for my coffee, and other things that I cannot remember at the moment. Then I went over to Jareds place so we could drive out to his parents place, they live about 45 minutes away, I hate the drive it takes forever. From his mom, I got a frying pan. Apparently it's a tradition in her family to give the daughters or daughter-in-laws a frying pan as part of making sure who's running the house, to the rule the roosr as she wrote in her card. She said to keep Jared in place. I have nothing to worry. But he's family spoiled me too, mostly got $$$ which I was totally not expecting, but very nice of course. Already went to the scrap store to spend some of it!! Then we left and went to his Grandparents house to say hi and all. As a wedding gift his grandparent are using their Air Mile points to pay for the flights to Hawaii for our honeymoon, very nice of them. Now have to figure out waht part of Hawaii we're going to. Drove back home to watch the Bears game, very important!! Of course, thank goodness they won, an extra Christmas present for Jared.

Dinner at my house was SO GOOD!! Had Mexican food, tamales, rice, beans and veggies. Love it!! I need to learn. Dessert was good, I love shortbread cookies and butter tarts, I think those two are my fave. Can't forget the Gingerbread men!! We always play some sort of game after dinner, the wrapping game we play very year. You need to unwrap a gift that has been wrapped over and over, with oven mitts while the person on you right is trying to roll doubles with the dies, so it can be their turn. Tons of fun, lots of laughing and of course in my family tons of screaming. I won!! YAY! Got some cool candle stuff.

After we went to Jared's friend Dan's house. They were having a little mini get together for all their friends. It was good, was super tired though. And it didn't help that I was sitting next to the fireplace. One of the things that we talked about, which is what Jared and I are kind of going through right now, is where to eat for the holidays, with which family. This year Christmas day was spent with Jared's family and then dinner at my parents. Jared's mom is already keeping tabs for next year, isn't that hard. So next year we're doing the same thing but switching families. It's hard, and apparently the couples that were at this house are going through the same thing. What do you do? Both, especially moms are upset, and in a way Jared and I are becoming our own family, so we need to do our own thing. I don't know. We never had this problem before, the past 7years we've gone each with our own family. Just kind of sucks.

Anyways, overall Christmas was good. I'm going to go and to some scrappin, finish my CJ and hopefully I will post some pics tomorrow!!

Weekend in Whistler

Friday at my school we had our Christmas concert and Party with the children. We had a special performance that the children did with their music and movement teacher. Then the children san four songs that we've been practicing. They did such an awesome job, and they all looked so cute with their reindeer antlers, that we the teachers all made. Tons of prep work we had to do. But it was totally worth it. Then the children hoped and wished that Santa might come and stop by with some gifts. And lucky children guess who came....just to see the children's faces is totally woth it!! Here's a photo of Santa Jared with the soon to be Mrs. Claus.

Whistler was pretty and cold. So cold!! I am totally not made for this kind of weather. Jared and I took the bus up, takes about 2hours to get there. We were scared to drive because the highway winds up and down, and it can be very slippery with black ice. But the bus ride was not too bad. Just sat there on the bus looking at the beautiful scenery and reading. We walked around the Whislter village, I think one of the things we did most while up there wa eat and drink. One good way to keep yourself warm, especially with Baileys and hot chocolate, yummy!!

The wedding was so pretty. There was about 50 guest. The wedding took place in a lodge, so it was very cozy. The ceremony was in a tiny chapel next door. Very short ceremony my friend Connie had her dog as the ring bearer, so cute!! I wasn't able to get a pic of him though. It was SO COLD!! And the wind was cold too, so that didn't help. Jared and I sat right in front of the bar, perfect!! It was hard because we didn't know too many people. the only people I knew were the ones from the shower, and Connie's co-workers. But it was a good time!! Connie and her new husband Tyler said they can't wait for our wedding too. Me too!!

A view of the mountains, so pretty and cold.

Jared, in Whistler Village. This is his I'm smiling at the camera, stop taking pictures picture.

My good friend Connie, the bride. She looked so beautiful and she was just beaming all night. Her dress was gorgeous, her Mom made it for her.

The Engagement Party

The engagement party was so much fun and it turned out really well. Saturay started with me getting a manicure, I love getting them. I had to have my nails looking pretty since I was gonna be showing off my ring!! After I went to Jared's we ended up having a draw at the party and we had 5 gift basket that we gave away. Each one represented a little bit of us and what we like to do. The BIG prize was a bottle of wine, a giftcard for Starbucks, chocolates, a candle, some of my handmade Christmas cards and a git card to our fave restaurant. So, I had to put them all together. Then we went to go get some more booze, and decorations to decorate the hall. After went to Jared's brothers house to figure out music, he played music all night from his laptop.

Then, we met at the Richmond Nature Park, that's where we had the party. The hall was like a log cabin, very nice and cozy. We met there to decorate the hall and set things up. Jared did the bar, and I the decorations. Tons of Christmas decorations everywhere. And setting up the food. Before we knew it was almost 6:30pm, and we had to go home and change. The party started at 7pm. Rushed home and changed. I was so worried about what I was going to wear but it turned out. I bought this pretty lacy skirt and wore it with a pretty sparkly sweater, and black camisole underneath. And my mama curled my hair, I loved it. I felt pretty!! My daddy called me a princess :) Jared looked handsome in his shirt and tie.

The party was tons of fun, Jared and I did rounds chatting with everybody. Jared did a speech and thanked everybody for coming, how happy he is that we're engaged and how much he loves me, and can't wait to marry me, melt my heart!! We did some dancing, my fave part I think, I love dancing with Jared, being in his arms. We danced to forgot the name of the song but it goes...Someday when I'm awfully low and the world is cold, I will feel a glow, just thinking of you and the way you look tonight....there we go it's called The way you look tonight. An old song, it's not our wedding song. But one of my fave songs anyways.

Overall it was extremely memorable, will still post more pics later, here are a few for now. Oh, and everyone said they had tons of fun which is good. Can't wait for the big day now!!

Jared and I. I love the picture, my friend took it. SO HAPPY!!

I got to show off my ring most of the night, which I don't mind doing at all. A-lot of girls were impressed at how WELL Jared did with the ring. I'm not complaining, I LOVE it!! The details about the ring; it's white gold, the sides have Celtic knot work, and the diamond is 1.1 carats, and is princess cut. Any more questions just ask me ;)

Jared and I dancing, here he's about to "dip" me. I loved dancing with him, I think I fell in love again with him all over again. Sorry about it being so dark and Jared's red eyes.

The super simple and easy guestbook I made for the party. We got so many nice comments. So, nice to read how many people are happy for us.

The day is almost here...

This week has been totally dedicated to the Engagement party and doing all the last minute things. Actually there is quite a few. Jared needs to get the liquor license still, and all the booze as well. And Jared said we should have a guest book, which is a good idea and asked me if I could whip something up. No problem, and it gives me a reason to go to the Scrap store. I just bought one of those Bazzill Cover Alls, (love those little books), some ribbon and cardstock and my project for tonight is to put it together. It will be super easy and super simple!! Food, we're gonna have some Subway Party tray, veggies and dip and some other appetizers. All done by super chef fiance Jared. Decorations, the hall will be decorated with Xmas lights which Jared and I will be doing on Saturday!! This party should be fun but in some ways I can't wait 'til it's over. Jared and I still have to decorate the tree, probably Sunday!! Have a super rest of the week, everyone and I will post some pics soon!!

A million and one things to do...

I am so happy that it's Friday. It's been a busy week. My sister left on Tuesday, and I'm still so busy with all my French tutoring. Then we have all this preparations at school for our Christmas Concert on the 16th. At school right now we're making tons of Christmas crafts. Which is always fun!! As well as making the gifts that "Santa" is going to give the children.

This weekend, tomorrow Jared and I are going to get the Christmas tree for his place. So excited to decorate. Then we have dinner with his family for sisters birthday. Sunday I have my friend Connie's bridal shower. The rest of the week, work and tutoring. Also getting everything ready for our Engagement Party on the 10th. Have to phone some people to see if they're coming. Prepare food, more decorations, buy a nice new outfit for me to wear to the party. Very important!! After the engagement party we're having our friends over at Jared's place for another get together. Just to hang out and chat. The Sunday after the engagement party I have my End of the year staff Christmas lunch.

The following weekend, the 16th my school Christmas concert with a special visit from Santa Jared. He does such an awesome job my fiance!! Will take tons of pics of course. The weekend of Dec 17th and 18th, Jared and I are going to Whistler for my Connie's wedding!! Yay!! So excited get to spend some alone time with Jared and celebrate my friends wedding. Take notes and of course get some ideas for my wedding!!

And in between all that I still need to go Christmas shopping, make some Christmas cards that I'm selling, and finish my own. And finish off my Christmas crafts. I love Christmas, all though this year it seems a little bit more busy with all the wedding stuff!! No worries!!

I'll Miss you Ness!!

I woke up this morning at 4:30pm to see my sister Vanessa off to Toronto. I was kind of not hoping that this day would come, because I'm going to miss her. Especially since she is my maid of honor and she needs to help me with all the wedding stuff. We will work around it, I guess. But at the airport you could tell in her face that she was excited for everything that is going to happen in the next little while. I know she's a little sad to go but she did keep telling all of us, that she will be back soon. Which is true!! I'm so excited for her and can't wait to hear the stories that she will have.

My Weekend

Let's see, my weekend....Saturday I got together with my friend Jen to make some Christmas cards and to go and check out Michaels and the scrapbook store, that's always fun. We stayed up late until about 12:30pm, making some Christmas cards and just chatting away!! It was fun, and the time just flew by.

Sunday, we had a dinner for Vanessa 'cause she leaves for Toronto on Tuesday. So we had a family dinner, Jared was at work unfortunately. My mom made Indian food. It was SO good. So much better than when I made it. We laughed and talked.

Then we gave her some presents, since it looks like she won't be here for Christmas, totally sucks. But her boyfrend is going out to Toronto to be with her so, at least she won't be alone, she gets 5 days off from training for the holidays. And it's just too much trouble for her to come back home. Easier if her boyfriend goes out there. I'm so happy for her that she's going, but I'm going to miss her tons!!

Biology Class

Sunday at the mall with my sis, I ran into my old best friend from high school and elementary school. I haven't seen her in so long. It was so nice to see her. She lives in Chilliwack about an hour and a bit from here, and she was in town visiting her parents. She's a high school French teacher. We chatted for a bit, she seems good and happy. When I got home I couldn't help but think about the "old" days and how much fun we used to have.

Graduating year from high school, we had Biology class together. Most of that time was spent chatting about boys and other important things. Sciences have never been my strongest subject. Half the time was also spent me asking her a tons of questions. Thank God I ended up passing the class. We had this friend, who sat with us at the same table and he was an amazing artist. He was really into drawing comics. So, I dug up the old comic and it just makes me laugh. I love it. I can still see us together, I think I actually might email it to her and see what she says.

I need Blogger For Dummies

I need it!! I am having such hard time trying to post a picture for my profile. I have been spending too much time trying to figure it out. It's driving me crazy!!!! I read the instructions on the Blogger Help, and followed them and they say no, it exceeds the number of characters or it says that it's invalid. UGH!! They make it sound so easy to do, but no! April even tried to help and i tried to follow her instructions but no such luck. I guess I'll just have to keep trying.

But other than that, my weekend was good. Delivered a bunch of engagement invitations. My pile of invitations was definetly smaller than Jared's. Only have two left to deliver. Jared just knows way too many people. I went to the scrap store, got a whole bunch of goodies for the circle journal, my color is Aqua. So excited to start. I saw Jared Saturday night, just watched football, me keeping an eye out for the marching band. Sunday, I went to the mall with my baby sister. I was so good, did not spend any money. My sister did that instead. She bought a bunch of new clothes, good for her. She's so hard to get to spend some money. Then we went to Steveston for coffee and a bagel. Later that night Jared and I went for coffee with some friends to Starbucks. Fun, just did a whole bunch of chatting and some wedding talk. Jared did finally talk to the caterer today, I've been bugging him for the past three weeks to call. Finally got somewhere.

Tonight, I think I'm going to do some work on my cj, so excited and watch some tv. Stil need to watch Desperate Housewives,I taped it. And CSI Miami is on tonight!!YAY!! Happy Monday everyone!!

My Creative Juices Are Back!!

For the longest time now my creative scrapbooking juices have disappeared!! But I think they are back!! Thanks to Erin and this swap we did. Now I think I just might finally tackle all the engagement pics I have lying around!!

Friday, November 18, 2005

Congrats to Vanessa!!!

I am so proud of my sister. After so much determination, perserverance and tons of practicing French with her, she finally got her flight attendant job. YAY for her!! She will be working for Air Canada Jazz. She leaves for Toronto on the 29th of this month. Her training is six weeks, and then she's on probation for 6 months. And she will be gone for that time too. SO it kind of sucks because it looks like she will miss Christmas and my engagement party. As long as she is here for the wedding, she's my maid of honour. I am so happy for her but I know I will miss her tons.

Jared's Birthday Celebration

I know it's wednesday, and we're all ready for the weekend that's coming up but I still wanted to post a little bit about Jared's 28th bday. First off it totally did not go as planned. My whole surprise that I had planned, to make him dinner and have a very romantic night. Nope didn't go. Let's just say that I was very upset, all because I was really excited about cooking him dinner. And I was going to cook chicken curry, and I don't cook. That's why it was such a big deal. And I made him a plate full of cupcakes and everything too. Oh well! So, we ended up having dinner with his family on Saturday night, which was fine. Then we, me, Jared, his brother Josh and his girlfriend Tanya went to O'Hares pub for some birthday drinks. Which was fun. Jared then phoned a whole bunch of his friends to come and join us. Needless to say all his friends bought a whole bunch of drinks and shooters so Jared was feeling pretty good after. Jared gets very moody when he's had too much to drink and he wants to pick fights with everybody. Not a-lot of fun!! So i got to take care of him, lucky me!! He insisted that he wanted to go to another pub, but I told him no that he was going home to go to bed. And everyone else was going home too.He was a bit difficult but by 10:40pm Jared was passed out snoring. I was tired too. We're such old farts!! Jared did tell me that it was the BEST birthday he's ever had. So that did make me feel a little bit better, but still. So, we ended up cooking Indian food on Monday night, actually Jared did most of the work. That's okay, I just want Jared happy that's all that matters to me.

Happy Birthday Jared!!

YAY!! Today is Jared's birthday!! He is 28 years young and is still looking good!! Of course. Jared hates birthdays, so I hope he likes the surprise I have for him. Will give more details later. Hope everyone has a super weekend!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

I had a good weekend, got to see tons of Jared which is always good. Saturday was College football so, of course it was spent watching Notre Dame. I always watch just so I could listen to the marching band. If there was marching band at my high school I would've SO joined. But we don't have that here in Canada. I guess I can only dream. hahaha!! We watched the game on the couch all cuddled up under the blanket, it was nice. And we actually did watch the whole game!!! Jared's been talking about going to Indiana, right? To watch a game, and I would so go with him. Of course to go and watch the marching band, take tons of pics and check out some scrapbook stores. Maybe next year for his b-day. Might have to start planning soon!!

Sunday was spent looking for some stamps to make our engagement party invitations. Which I did find, and hanging out with my youngest sister in Steveston. One of our fave places to go. We had coffee and dessert. I had my fave cheesecake; lemon chocolate. It was so yummy!! I wonder if would taste good as a wedding cake? Later, that night Jared and I went out to dinner with his family to Spaghetti Factory. To celebrate Jared's brothers b-day!! So I got to see all of my future in laws, which is good, haven't seen them all in awhile. Jared is so lucky too that he still has all 4 of his grandparents. I always so envious, he has always said that they are my grandparents too, but now it's official. Jared was so tired, he was pretty much falling asleep at the table. He'd only had 4 hours of sleep because he slept on the couch. His brother, sister and him went out Saturday night to celebrate his brothers b-day, and because his sister slept over at his house, he gave her his bed and he slept on the couch, not too comfortable. Poor him!!

Today Jared spent the afternoon stamping, while I was at work. He was helping with the engagement party invites, he looked so cute, I'll post pics later. I will definelty scrap those pics for our engagemnt album. He's at soccer tonight so I get to continue with the invites, and tonight is CSI:Miami, I'm excited. Jared has gotten me hook.

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween to everybody!! I hope everyone had an awesome and spooky halloween. My weekend was good!!! Saturday I got my hair done, back to being naturally brunette. I like it!! No more blonde or red!! Now I'm ready for our engagement photos. Jared also got his hair done, he got a "faux" mohawk. He was David Beckham for Halloween, he looked so hot!! That's my honey!! We carved some jack o'lanterns Saturday afternoon, we're going to light them tonight, I'm SO excited!! I'm going to take some pictures tonight!!

Sunday was pretty laid back. I went to the Scrapbook store, love going there. Everytime I go there they have all this new stuff, so much to see. I can easily spend hours there just looking at everything. And me I always have to touch everything and really study everything. My mom and sister always bug me, I'm like that also everytime I go to the craft store. Well, you have to take eveything in and there's no rush. So, I spent a good while at the scrapbook store "studying" everything. The girls that work there are so nice, and always very helpful. They're having a big sale this week so I will have to go and check it out. I spent the rest of the afternoon scrappin' got tons done.

Then my sister and her boyfriends came over for dinner. We had Mexican food, my mom makes the BEST mexican food; we had enchilidas, beans, rice, guacamole and ensalada de nopales. Which are really good, it's cactus salad. Now I know it doesn't sound that great but you have to try it first. So good!! Then we had some fun with Halloween costumes. My sister had a clown wig and my dad and Casey my sister's boyfriend put on little Dutch girl hats!! They looked so cute!!

A bit about...Mrs Magoo

I finally finished this layout, it has been sitting on my desk for a week, I was being very picky about how to do it. Was driving me crazy. I finally just left it alone and then came back to it, and finished it. Happy with how it finally turned out. Check it out on two peas.

I'm just looking at the time, it flew by. I have to start getting ready for work soon and I had so many things I wanted to; some school work, more scrappin, some cardmaking. Ugh!! I guess I'll have to do it later. And the weeekend is coming up, can do tons of stuff then too.

I got to talk to April on Messenger last night. So, happy totally made my day. Finally gettin' to talk to her was fun. A very cool chick. Hopefully you slept okay, sorry about keeping you up. Looking forward to our next chat!!

Hoping everyone has a happy thursday!!

Good Weekend, Back to Work Too, YAY!!

So, I'm back to work today YAY!! I'm so happy the teachers voted on a proposal and 77% said yes, so that means there is school today, which means we are allowed to get back into the school. It's been two weeks, of this illegal stirke. So glad it's over. I'm just going to be happy to see the children and my co-workers. And this Friday we're supposed to have our Halloween party. We have so much to catch up on. No worries.

I had a really goo weekend too. Saturday I had a Stampin'Up party. It was tons of fun. We made a bunch of cards and just chatted with all the girls. Had all my friends over. My boss came, she's totally not like my boss, but she is. Really cool girl and we get along really well. We've known each other for a long time too. But she really likes all the "crafty" stuff I make so, she came to the stamping party and made a Christmas card, so she's orderd some stuff to make her own Christmas cards. I've gotten her hooked too. And I finally got a picture with my friend Shannon and my ring. I've been bugging her, she wanted to be presentable. Sunday I spent the day with my sister Olga, we went to the mall and had soem coffee in Steveston. Tons of fun!! We get along really well. I'm really going to miss her when I move out. But I'm sure we'll manage. Didn't get to see Jared that much this weekend, he had soccer and work on Monday. Then yesterday there was football and he was really tired from playing Poker until 8am. Crazy guy, at least he won some money. Love him.

Tonight Jared and I are going to go and meet the reverend who's going to marry us for coffee. Kinda of curious to meet him and what he will have to say. I guess I'll have to wait unitl tonight. Wish us luck!!!

Feelin' Good

I am definetly feelin' good, I had a very good day. I woke up to seeing the page that April made for me, and I love it. She just did such an awesome job, lovin' the flowers. So, happy that we did the swap. She's just such an awesome girl, I know we're still just getting to each other, but I like her she ROCKS. THANKS AGAIN APRIL!! Still no work which kind of sucks, but we are doing a bunch of field trips with the children to let the parents know that we care and we're still trying to do everything we can despite the strike. Tomorrow we are going to the pumpkin patch, so excited it's one of the most fun field trips we do during the year. Even I still enjoy it. Then, Friday we're going to have a music class at our music teachers house. And yesterday we went to Go Bananas which is an indoor playground and the children just played, even me. It was fun, I hope we get to go into our school soon, because I'm starting to realize how much I miss seeing the children everyday. They're saying hopefully Monday, we'll see. I've also been feeling very creative, doing tons of scrapbooking, finished the effer dare #12, I just love hoe it turned out. The swirls are tons of fun!! My sister was a little upset that I posted it on two peas, I think it's more embarassment of the pics, but she looks cute, I think. Besides it's my art, right? Today I got to spend the whole day with Jared, which doesn't happen too often. But it was good, did a bunch of wedding stuff. And we figured out a guest list for the engagement party. Jared's parents are throwing us an engagement party, we have 98 people. It's a-lot, but quite a few fro out of town, and it'll be on December 10, so well see if everybody can make it, hopefully they'll be some who have an office Christmas party or something, I'm so awful. Tomorrow we're gonna call around some caterers. Tonight I'm gonna do some more scrappin...YAY!!

Get Swanky!!

Well I finished April's scrap page, I love how it turned out and I hope she likes it too. I can't wait for her to see it. This swap has been so much fun so cool, I can't wait to do another one. My weekend was okay, the car didn't want to start again yesterday, which kind of sucks. My dad thinks it's because theirs moisture getting into the car,'cause on Saturday the car perfectly fine. He said he's going to try and do something. So, I went to Steveston with my sister and found this cute journal of Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's, I had to buy. I lover her and her movies, still don't know what I'm going to use it for, probably for scrappin notes, we'll see...

Friday, October 14, 2005

Got to work today...

Well I must say I know it's only been a week since the strike started but it was sure nice to see the children from my school and my co-workers. I really missed everybody. My co-workers and I met early for lunch and Starbucks, YUMMY!! Had sushi!! We got to catch up and see what we are going to do if the strike goes on any longer. Get to go to the pumpkin patch on Wed. One good thing I don't have to worry about money, I'll still be getting a paycheck. That's a relief. Get to see Jared tomorrow and I'm going to get April's printed so I can scrap her for the our swap, I already have some ideas swirling around in my mind.YAY!!!

Got the Wedding Locations!!

Well, I first off must say that I am definelty feeling better, compared to yesterday and it kind of hit me more last night. And I haven't seen him since the weekend so, that makes it hard but I will get to see him tomorrow. But, after talking to Jared on the phone, he sure knows how to make me feel better. Things are okay. The teachers are still on strike, they vote tomorrow, but I do get to go to work on Friday, for like two hours but that's okay, I'm happy. It will be good to see my co-workers and the children. But this morning I booked the heritage farmhouse for our wedding ceremony. We got it. So, in almost 9months, AHHHH so much to do, I will be marrying the love of my life. YAY!! The old farmhouse is really pretty and well be married in the gazebo and then get our pictures taken in the garden and around the old farmhouse. Now, the in photos, it doesn't look really nice, but wait til the summer with the flowers it will be gorgeous. Then, the reception will be at the Scottish Cultural Centre, it looks small but it's actually really big inside. We are able to fit 175people inside. And the bar, the bathrooms and the kitchen is all outside of the hall, which is good. I'll try to get more pictures later. Things are definetly moving along, July 15th will be here before we know it. All I'm looking forward to is officially becoming Mrs. Magoo :)

Venting...

I just need to vent....so much going on right now. First the public school teachers in my province decided to go on strike, on Friday because they want more money, smaller classes and they need a new contract. Apparently they haven't had a contract in more than two years. So, unfortunately this is not supposed to affect my school because we are private, but my school is inside the public school so we are not allowed too cross the picket lines, it might 'cause problems and we need to support the teachers. Besides that the school is completely closed, no one is allowed in. UGH!!! Besides us there is also a daycare inside the school, so, they are affected too. And they were supposed to have talks today the teachers union and the government, but nothing no one is talking. So, tomorrow also there is no school. I'm so hoping that they resolve things, I need to make some money have to save for the wedding and of course the car, which the mechanic cannot find anything wrong with it, it's completly behaving. So, he has it one more day to see if he can figure it out. Thankgoodness I will have a little bit of money coming in, with tutoring which now with the strike parents are desperate for. And it will be cash, which is good. Already feeling a little better, letting it all out...

Mixed Emotions

What a day and night. Good things and bad things. First I'll start with the good, I'm going to do a swap with April, YAY!! I'm so excited!! My first ever swap, cannot wait to start. My mom's friend has said yes, to making Jared and I wedding cake, so excited, another thing to cross of my list. Her name is Luisa and she's like a chef extraordinaire, she also bakes the best cakes. All I know is that I want the cake to be chocolate, but other than that, that's all I know. Okay, now bad. Jared called me at 1am this morning from work telling me that the car won't start. That he has tried many times to start and that it won't so, of course I'm such a worry wart. So, I called him half an hour later to see if he had gotten the car started but no, he ended up taking a cab. I feel so bad, the car is supposed to at up on me 'cause at least I can call BCAA, for some help. So, I didn't really sleep too much, woke up on and off and finally got up at 7am so I could catch a ride with my dad, to the restaurant where Jared works. Got there my dad tried and nothing, so I phoned BCAA, had to wait for 45min, went to Starbucks and waited. I saw a towtruck and I went out and met with him at the restaurant, he tried a couple of times, stepping really hard on the gas and eventually the car started. The rpm was going very irregular and I did make it to the mechanics and now that's where it is, and all I have to do is wait. The car was already there last week, ugh, I just keep thinking about the money and how much it's going to cost, I'm supposed to be saving for the wedding. Well see what happens...

I'm a Scrappin queen

Well, we checked out the farm and it looks good, were going to go with it as our place for the wedding ceremony but the lady that we needed to talk to was not there. So, we have to wait until Wed. to call her and I need to ask her some questions. But it looks good!! That was this morning, I got home at around 1pm because Jared borrowed the car to go to soccer. I have been scrappin' all afternoon, and I'm quite proud of myself I got so much done. I'm so excited and I posted them on two peas. I even managed to do and effer dare, which I have been wanting to do, check them out!!

Checking out the farm today!!

Well today, Jared and I are going to go to London Farms to check out the site for holding the wedding ceremony at, I'm excited!! If all goes well and we both like and agree on the site I will post some pictures, hope the rain stops.

Starting to feel the pressure

Well I must say, the whole planning a wedding is definetly starting to get to me. But I also must say that Jared is starting to feel it as well, whew!! There are like a million and one things to do, and it's like the list doesn't seem to the end, and we're just in the beginning stages. Jared is SOOO supportive though, he's defintely not your typical groom where he leaves all the planning up to the bride, he's right there with me, completely involved which I am so thankful for!! As part of my surprise gift that Jared gave me when he proposed was a wedding book and magazine, they are totally helping. He was definetly thinking ahead!! Thank God!! Yesterday we went to leave a deposit and sign a contract for the Scottish Cultural Centre, we got it and the date we wanted!! The wedding is in 9 months, on July 15th, 2006. Saturday we are going to go and check out a heritage farmhouse to have the ceremony at. At least I have one thing to check off my list, now to the other million more...

A surprise?!

Thankgoodness it's Saturday today. I love the weekend. Last night I went out with a friend for some drinks and dinner. We were planning on going to the restaurant where Jared works but he told me on the phone before that we weren't allowed to come. I asked him why, and he said I would find out later, and that was it he didn't tell me anything else. But he did ask if he could use my car so, I dropped it off before me friend and I went out. Waiting at the restaurant I couldn't go in very far. Waited at the bar, as close as possible to the door. I asked him again and he said he would tell me tomorrow. So, now I am very curious what is going on....

Thankgoodness for Payday!!

All I can say that I am so happy that today is the 15th of the month, payday!! So, nice to be making some money, it's so hard not making any money over the two months of summer break, except for tutoring money. I'm already thinking this paycheck is going to my old friend VISA and then after it's all about saving, saving, saving!!

Tutoring Rocks!!

One of the other things I do besides teach at a Montessori school, is for extra cash I do some tutoring on the side. Mostly French, but I also have a couple of English students too. Tonight I'm tutoring English to my 16year old student. She loves all the patterned paper at my fave scrapbook store so that's where we are going tonight for our class. I just love to work, hopefully I won't spend too much money...

First Week Back and I get sick...

My first week at school has been good. All the children were excited to come back to school, as well as the teachers I guess. We only have 6 new children which is good, because there isn't as much running around after them. The older children help out a-lot too, with the younger ones especially. Needless to say, Friday morning I woke up with a cold. It was bound to happen, last year in the first week of school I got sick as well. I went to school, but I cancelled tutoring what also kind of sucked is that I wasn't feeling well for my Dad's birthday either. We had a dinner, some cake and opened presents. It was fun!! My dad really liked all his presents. But by nine o'clock I was done, I went to bed. Now it is Sunday, and I feel better just a cough that is left. Yesterday, I was just really tired didn't do too much. There goes my weekend, that sucks. It's a countdown until Friday and the weekend begins. I'm so bad!!

A good celebration

Yesterday Jared took me out to lunch, to celebrate the end of summer break and the beginning of a new school year. We went to the Flying Beaver, a pub near the airport also where his good friend Mike works. I swear Jared knows almost everybody in Richmond, everywhere we go he sees someone he knows. I get introduced to so many people, half the time I forget. As soon as we walked in there was a table of about ten people, they were all the people that Jared had served drinks for the night before at the wedding he bartendered. So, met many more new people and they all talked about the wedding. Had to wait for a seat to sit, 'cause it was so busy. I kept wondering how many of these people were teachers? We finally sat down, and then some friend of Jared's from when he used to work at the Keg asked if she could sit down with us until her friends came, so she did and we chatted away. In the meantime, I kept getting martinis appearing from time to time. Eventually things started to spin, also 'cause I needed some food. The appys came, and Jared's friend friends came so it was just the two of us. I loved it, spending time with Jared is always good. He's so busy, and now that school starts again my schedule will change and I can't forget that football has also started again woohoo!! So, it was nice just spending time with my honey. And guess who came into the Beaver too?! Jason Priestley, can you believe it? Now I've seen two famous people in my life Jamie Oliver and Jason Priestly. Pretty cool!! Well I just wanted to write about how much fun I had with Jared, a good celebration. Now let's see how school goes this afternoon.

Summer break is over...

Well it's hard to believe that today is the last day of summer break, tomorrow it's back to school!! It's so weird that you wait all school year, especially as a teacher for summer break and that it comes and goes so fast. I can still remember moving all the furniture in the class at the end of june so the custodians can wax the floors. But I can't complain, I had a really good summer break. Didn't do too much tutoring, only a couple of days in the morning. The rest of the time was spent laying out in the hammock, napping, reading and doing puzzles. I got tons of scrapbooking done, which was tons of fun. I got to explore my scrapbooking style. I spent time with my other montessorian friends, my little sister, and my boyfriend when he wasn't working. The one thing I'm most proud of that I have done is I went waterskiing for the first time in my life and I managed to stay up on the skis, for a bit of time. It was such a thrill, still have to scrap those photos!! So all in all it was an awesome summer!! Now I'm somewhat ready for the new school year!!
